Course Content Training walks teachers through the course they will teach. It includes a review of the motif, rubrics, assessments, answer keys, and standards. Activities aligned with national standards are highlighted, and an overview is given of all outside materials, learning aids, resources, or any special hardware/software used.

The orientation also provides examples of instructive feedback for course assignments and spotlights problem concepts, difficult lessons, or honors assignments. Finally, the course details administration of final exams, exam passwords, alternate test quizzes, oral tests, and academic integrity. Samples of student work may be provided.

Online Teaching 101 contains three key modules filled with best practices, customer service tips, and time savers for excellent online instruction. The course also contains two bonus modules-one for those who use the Educator learning management system, and one for those who use the Virtual School Administrator performance management system. Online Teaching 101 can be accessed 24/7 via a username and password, or it may be purchased and enhanced with information unique to your school.

Module content is as follows:
Module 1: "An Introduction to Online Training" jump-starts instructors with everything from quick facts about distance learning, organizing space and time, to "top 10 online teaching tips."

Module 2: "Communications in the Virtual World" provides best practices for welcoming students to the course-a critical success factor. Learn to create an online community and receive a host of technical tips.

Module 3: "Enhance Your Virtual Program with the FLVS Mentor Program" explores how to construct a support community of best practices. The differences between mentoring for beginning or experienced instructors are highlighted, along with programmatic offerings for each group.

Module 4: "An Introduction to Educator" is geared to those who license the Educator learning management system and covers features such as submitting assignments, grading, answer keys, and more.

Module 5: "An Introduction to Virtual School Administrator" is provided for those who license the VSA Performance Management System. It equips teachers to take immediate advantage of VSA's functionality.

The mentoring program utilizes an experienced online coach to walk side-by-side with your instructors through their first year of online teaching.

Your instructors enjoy access to their mentor to via telephone and email. They also receive a weekly brief, entitled Monday Mentor Minutes, full of tips for successful instruction, ideas for generating excitement in the course, and topical articles.
