FLVS Wins EdNet’s Impact Award

Florida Virtual School was honored on Tuesday, September 19, as the 2006 recipient of EdNet’s Impact Award. Sponsored by QED and The Heller Reports, the Impact Award recognizes the organization that has made “the most significant impact on education through quality educational support and instructional resources.”
“We are all absolutely thrilled to be recognized with this award. Building a top-in-class educational program is only possible when every member of the team is passionate about making a difference,” said Florida Virtual School President & CEO, Julie Young.
In the decade since its inception, student achievement has been the measuring stick for the program’s success. FLVS is unafraid to change whatever hinders or does not help the learning process—a practice that often results in challenging sacred educational practices, such as attendance-based funding.
FLVS joins the ranks of such prestigious winners as the NASA Center for Distance Learning, the Consortium for School Networking, and the JASON Foundation for Education. Specific requirements for the reward are listed below. Photos and official press release coming soon.
